Research: Relevant Genre Director; Shane Meadows

Throughout our media, while studying urban drama, we have been hugely influenced by the English film director and screenwriter, Shane Meadows.

We are able to relate to Shane Meadows and the films he has produced as the majority specify as short, low budget films as well as being typical urban dramas, which reminice his days of youth. Full of reality, and as shown in the film below the slightly darker reality on the midlands and the increase of drugs within the community.

We were inspired by this trailer, although it isn't a 'teaser' trailer it was influential on how the scenes of violence and drugs were portrayed in the urban drama film.

Genre - A mysterious, urban drama.

Narrative - Two men, made obvious by the child hood flash back as brothers. One brother was pressured into being a drug lords pet. As the other brother comes into the situation and realises this, he hunts all of the gang members down one by one in revenge to take advantage of his simple minded little brother.

USP - Religious kind of a moral fable, weaving together social realism and myth.

Music - Starting with a soft acoustic sound slowly fading steadily to an uncomftable noise of slashes and shouting, laughing and screaming, with tension building as non diegetic sound effects enhance an idea of danger and vengeance.

Shot types / angles - Commonly introduced with a few establishing/ long shots to introduce characters then swift transitions to mid/ close up shots to identify status' and emotions. Camera angles are also used effectively representing power in frontal situations.

Pace - Generally the pace is fairly steady throughout the trailer, but as expected gradually building to heighten tension and action within the more violent scenes.

Dialogue - The dialogue in this trailer is important as it helps describe the scenes and the emotions of each of the characters, highlighting and enhancing any key morals throughout.

Special Effects - No special effects are used in this trailer as it is a low budget urban drama similar to the path of our 'teaser' trailer. An ideal influence on how we can enhance the effectivity of specific scenes without using special effects.

Credits and Inter titles - The titles are commonly spread across the whole trailer highlighting a story line with few words helping to illustrate the film and specify a paticular ideal target audience.
